Finally, I got around to filming something a little more cheerful than my latest set of videos. Ok, well maybe a culture/lifestyle built around the scraps of a destroyed world isn’t the most upbeat of subjects, but today I’ll be doing a more glamorized look of a post-apocalyptic steampunk look.
In the next few weeks I’ll be doing a part two to this look which will be more of an “anti-sexy” look, a lot like the anti-sexy pirate look I did a while ago. I get that some people will want to do the pretty, stylised versions of a look, and some people will want the thematically realistic look. This way you get the best of both.
If you haven’t seen it already I did a DIY video on earlier this week showing how to make the mask which you can see here. Speaking of props, I think I’m going to need to start selling a few on eBay soon. It’s amazing how quickly they’ve started to clutter my work space! As you probably know, I love making things like the horns or the masks for my videos, but there are only so many of them you can make before your home starts to look like a masquerade shop.
I’m actually a little too excited about filming the anti-sexy version. Especially since this one will involve doing severe radiation burns which I’ve been excited to try out for a long time now, along with what I call a greasy grungy eye. I know it sounds quite ugly, but that’s not the aim of my anti-sexy looks. I still want the characters to look human, I just don’t want them to look like a barbie.
What BB creams do you use in your videos Klaire?
Love your work! Where did you get the earrings or did you make them? If you did make them do you have a tutorial? TFS your inspirations!!
