Review: Japanese Cherry Blossom Perfume Oil

Japanese Cherry Blossom

My Lily Lolo obssession doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon, but I thought I’d least attempt to experiment with other brands and the other day when I was passing through Paddington I thought I’d give this a try. As you’d imagine it smells of cherry blossom, a sweet floral smell without smelling like you bathed in a sweet shop.

• Basics: Alcohol-free • £7 • 10ml • Cruelty-Free •

Sadly I’ve found that about about 3-4 hours you can’t really smell it unless you press your nose against where you applied it. It’s not a terrible perfume at all, I love the fact it’s so small. Makes it really easy to cary around in your pocket if you’re traveling (just make sure the lid is screwed on tight!) but I do wish the smell lasted a little longer than a few hours.

Actually TBS products are no longer cruelty free, since it was bought by estee lauder, and thé y test on animals!

They’re actually a subsidiary of L’Oreal. Not Estee Lauder. It’s a little bit of a grey area though. It’s all carefully worded on their website/products e.g. ‘against animal testing’ rather than not tested on animals and ‘none of our products has been tested on animals’, meaning finished products rather than the ingredients themselves.

TBS is actually owed by L’Oriel but is (and I’ve checked several times) cruelty free despite this. Some people object to TBS because they don’t like that, being owned by L’oriel, their money does also goes to L’Oriel.

Personally I think it’s more important to show big companies like L’Oriel that cruelty-free companies can be profitable and don’t see the point in punishing a company which somehow has managed to stick to their guns of being CF despite who owns them.

I get TBS Rose one and I love the smell so much. Among all the perfume I have been tried before, somehow this lasted quite long for me? I apply before going to work and the smell surprisingly was gone until I get home from work.
