Review: Illamasqua Masquara

Disclaimer: Item provided for review. All opinions are my own.

A few days ago I received a package from Illamasqua.

Hehe I was hoping it was going to be a bit of a sneak peak into the up coming Theatre if the Nameless. It ended up being the mascara from the upcomming collection but no more information about the collection *sigh*.

The bottle kind of suprised me.

Maybe I half expected to see some amazing intricate mascara bottle that was was a piece of art in it’s own right, but it’s was just a simple black tube.

It has quite a large brush (similar it size to the Maybelline Colossal mascara), nothing unusual.

  • Shade Black (Raven)
  • Part of the upcoming Theatre of the Nameless collection

If the eyes are the windows of the soul, our new Masquara in Raven (midnight black) reveals a heart of darkness with a new formula that lengthens, defines and dramatises to extremes. The happy union of our unique brush design and new smudge-proof formula ensures lashes can last the whole night through

To demonstrate how well/or not the the mascara worked I decided to take shots of my eye lashes before and after applying the mascara.

It applies quite well, it can be slightly sticky so you have to be careful to not let your lashes stick together. Overall though I didn’t notice a tone of difference, it slightly darkened my lashes and gave a bit more length, but nothing that blew my mind.

This is an ok mascara. It didn’t wow me, I do think though that it’s a bit of a steep of a price to charge for a mascara that only really gives a natural look to the lashes.

That being said I am still looking forward to the Theatre of the Nameless collection even if it’s just for the pictures.

You are ver sincere, it seems it is just a normal mascara to which they charge a lot of money only because of the brand name. Thank you.

I send you a little bit more kisses from Spain, as well.
