Review: Costal Scents GO Paletts (Sydney)

Disclaimer: Items sent for review purposes :)

Moving onto the colourful pallet in the GO Palette, this one one is loaded with bright and cheerful colours.

“The seven palettes each house twelve

exclusively selected shadows that reflect

colors widely found in the corner of the

world they represent”

None of the colours in the palette are matte, all of them have light, mostly heavy shimmer.

Pigmentation wise the pallet is quite good, I didn’t like it as much as the Beijing pallet, but it’s still good quality. As a summer pallet this one is pretty much perfect, colourful and exciting, ideal for anyone who likes bright and shimmery colours.

Basics:

  • $8.96 = £5.69

  • Cruelty-free!

  • Compact + sturdy

  • Travel friendly

  • Large mirror in lid

As far as which skin tones I think this would look best on these colours would look stunning on anyone with olive to dark skin.

These kinds of shimmery colours can work with pale skin but these’s no competition on how beautiful they look against dark skin. Absolutely stunning!

Bellow are swatches of the pallet in cold and warm light, it pretty much illustrates why I’d recommend this for the summer. These colours look so much better in warm light.

Conclusion:

Good pigmentation, practical packaging and colours perfect for summer

Review: Costal Scents Go Palette (Beijing)

Disclaimer: Items provided for review :)

So, moving onto part two of my review of the Go Palettes I will be reviewing Beijing today. I’ve never been to Beijing (one day *dreams*) so I can’t say if the colours are the type that make me think of the city but either way I love the colours, especially the lovely burgundy red!

All these colours have a satin feel to them, they apply very smoothly, they can be quite powdery but they are not lacking in the pigment department.

Out of all the colours there’s only one that I wasn’t impressed with but other than that I was extremely impressed with the pigmentation.

Basics:

  • $8.96 = £5.69

  • Cruelty-free!

  • Compact + sturdy

  • Travel friendly

  • Large mirror in lid

So bellow are the swatches I took, these were swatched with a base (Costal Scents Primer). Ahhhhh….just look at that lovely red/coral colour!

Just like my review of the Cairo palette (Link) I’ve rated the colours on what I thought of the pigmentation and overall quality of the eye shadows.

“The seven palettes each house twelve

exclusively selected shadows that reflect

colors widely found in the corner of the

world they represent”

None of these are matte colours all of them have some glitter but nothing really in your face, just really tiny subtle shimmer.

I also decided to show you how the colours looked in both warm and cold lighting, it’s quite funny how different an eyeshadow can look because of the lighting. Out of this whole pallet I think my favorite is the red/coral colour (top right hand corner).

I need to see if I can do a tutorial with a colour like that soon, it’s just so, so pretty!

Conclusion:

A very good pallet, excellent quality and at a very reasonable price. This is the kind of pallet I would recommend to a makeup enthusiast or someone who is just getting started with makeup.

Review: Costal Scents GO Palette (Cairo)

DISCLAIMER: Items were provided for review :)

So this morning I received a surprise package from Costal Sents and I was surprised to see they had set me their entire Go Palette collection.

Now I’m not going to review them all in one bunch, I’d rather review them each individually so that you can get a breakdown of each individual palette.

I was quite shocked when I saw the pallets to be honest. I’ve gotten used to their simple packadging so when I saw the lovely designs on the case I was caught an unawares. I LOVE the packaging for this collection.

One criticism I have though is I thought the fonts were a bit badly chosen.

Having a serif, sans-serif and cursive font just looks a bit messy, but I still love what they’ve done which the packaging! Overall a very good idea!

So…for this blog post I will be reviewing the Cairo pallet. First impressions, a fantastic neutral pallet, especially for traveling.

Again, for the packaging I would have liked to have seen something like the compass design on the outer packaging on the lid just to make it more interesting, but that’s just me :)

As far as colour selection goes I thing they did a fantastic job selecting colours that are associated with the countries they are meant to represent.

Haha, I think my Mum is going to nick this pallet off me once I’ve finished reviewing it, a beautiful neutral pallet.

Basics:

  • $8.96 = £5.69

  • Cruelty-free!

  • Compact + sturdy

  • Travel friendly

  • Large mirror in lid

Each eyeshadow seems to have a varying level of pigmentation so bellow I’m going to mark each eyeshadow by the level of pigmentation.

And I should just mention that the silver and the gold shades are really well pigmented! Not quite Sugarpill standards but still very good!

Conclusion:

A really good pallet! Fantastic price and I love how they’ve experimented with the packaging.
