I was so pleased when I finished this look because I felt like I had done at least half of my Zodiacs series, turns out I’ve only done four so far (not including this look), so that was a little bit of a letdown.
You can download the templates for the butterfly lashes on my Leo blog post
With all the actual twins I’ve met I’ve noticed two things, some love to look exactly like each other, and others hate it and do everything they can to look as different as possible. Different hair colours, different styles etcetera. So I really wanted to try and take the idea of ‘identical but different’ and apply it to Gemini by reversing the order of black and white on each side.
Originally my plan had to be to alternate the colour of the pearls on each side, but since I already had the contrast of black and white on each side I decided to use the pearls as the one thing in the eye makeup which was completely identical on each side.
The element associated with Gemini is Air
In the research I did one of the things I came across was that butterflies are the animals associated with with Gemini, which is why I wanted to include it in this look. Of course if you just want something more wearable (and less time consuming to make) you can just skip applying the wings and stick to just the eyeliner.
For the white butterfly lashes you are going to have to trace, so if you don’t know how to do that I have a tutorial for it here. Oh and before I forget, the photos (the top one specifically) are actually really easy to do. All you need is a mirror and to take two photos, one looking up, one looking down and then cut and stitch the two images in photoshop.
