The Alien

Back from Space

A few days Sebastien sent me this beautiful painting he had done for me and it gave me an idea for an alien makeup tutorial. I have done one of these before but this one I wanted to be a little more colourful.

Here’s a link to my previous alien tutorial

Of course once I started applying the makeup it veered in a totally different direction and ended up looking nothing like Sebastien’s beautiful painting, and there were rhinestones involved (of course).

Helo, is it me you're looking for

Normally I try and experiment with my backgrounds to make the video a little more interesting, so this week I use some plastic wrapping I had saved up (seriously, you never know when it’ll come in handy) and draped it over a table lamp I had set up behind me.

For the simpler pictures I just hug a small torch on the frame above me to get that beautiful above lighting

For the photos to get that “moving-through-space'” look I selected just the plastic sheet on photoshop, duplicated it on another layer, increased the brightness and then added a directional blur. Simple but looks pretty amazing! A little like space rain.

Through the veil Blur

And that’s my alien makeup look. I really have to do a review on the Illamasqua foundation at some point though, it’s is hands down the best white foundation I have ever used, and trust me that list is loooong! Sure there are some drawbacks, like most products. But I’ll get to that once I’ve done the review.

Hope you like the tutorial!

This is by far one of the most beautiful looks you’ve ever done and that I’ve ever seen. This coming from an avid fan of yours that loves just about every look you’ve done, this is OUT OF THIS WORLD BEAUTIFUL! My kinda makeup! Ughhh I love this! I can’t even (-_-) just can’t … Too awesome!

I love this look! It’s so…alien, hahaha. Even though you were inspired by Sebastien’s painting, I thought it looked really similar to that Katy Perry song (name has escaped me) but maybe that’s because of the similar colour scheme.

    Anyway, love your work!

Wow, wow, wow. I totally love this tutorial, it is even better than the one of the alien queen that you did. I love it because it’s darker and the mysterious feel to it please do some more.
