DIY Brush Holder: Collage

This is probably my least favorite of the DIY Brush Holder series I’m doing, mainly because I prefer more ornate looking stuff, but it’s such an easy technique with so many possible variations that you can do that I think you’ll like it.

What I used:

  • Magazine Clippings
  • Clear Nail Varnish
  • Empty Candle Jars

Hope you like the tutorial :)

Wow! This is so creative! I love the magazine clippings pot! I am definitely trying it! And your original art of the fairy’s are so good! :)

  3. Awsome Idea ;) I’ve done similar with Modpodge, but modpodg reactivates when wet so if you wanted to clean it off you have to be careful! how well does it clean with Nail polish (varnish)

    1. Klaire says:

If you’ve done about 3 coats it should clean without a problem :)

Nice job again Klair – i always enjoy your videos, you put alot of thought and effort into them, and that shows off. Also, I like the softness of your voice. And your results, not to forget. In this case I especially like how the glass with your faries turned out, thats a great way to use small drawings :)

It’s crazy how it’s little simple ideas like this (which I never really would have thought of) could be done to jazz up jars etc. Thanks for the video Klaire. =)

Reminds me very much of technique work with napkins, I really like it.
And you can do similar things with lace or semi-transparent fabrics.
As well as create a class fabric only, with stiffening fabric.
Have you ever thought to do: give aeay of things you’ve made?
I would love to win something like this.

    1. Klaire says:

I have though about giving away some of the things I make, especially one that I’m working on at the moment. Maybe after I’ve made enough holders for myself I’ll start giving them away :)

      1. almog-mogli.ap says:

I would like to be able to keep my brushes on my dresser.
But with cats at home, it must be closed in the drawers, otherwise it’s going to walk around the house.
