Lace Eyes

I have been planing this one for so long so I’m over the moon that I’ve finally uploaded it! :D

I got the idea for this one around the end of August (last year) so I’m pretty happy to finally have it off the paper and into a tutorial :)

As you can see I’ve made some slight changes to the original design I had. I found that if I added the lace on the bottom lid all the way into the inner corner from a distance it looked too much like a dark circle or just a black eye.

(For those of you wondering the design on the right was the design idea I originally had for the valentines day look I uploaded a few weeks ago)

There isn’t really a tone of logic in showing this look in different eye colours seeing as it will suit any eye colour but seeing as I’ll probably still get people asking me to do it I will.

There are a few ways you can make this look less plain if simple rhinestones and liner isn’t glam enough for you.

How about using different kinds of rhinestones? Different colours or even studded rhinestones if you want a “lace and studs” look.

There’s no reason why you have to use black eyeliner.

If your skin is very dark an absolutely stunning alternative to using black eyeliner is any kind of metallic eye liner, especially gold!

And my final suggestion would be why not use some kind of colour on the water line? I know I partly lined the out corner of the waterline but there is no reason why the rest cant be filled.

Green, blue, turquoise eyeliner? Gold? The options are endless :)

Enjoy the tutorial!

Review: Lush Sound Bath

Any of you that are familiar with Lush will know that they recently released a new treatment at their spas called the Sound Bath.

This would be my second time having a facial (not a Lush one), even thought the Sound Bath isn’t technically a facial so I should really say a spa treatment. The first facial/spa treatment I had was a bit traumatic, as at the time I had severe acne and all the therapist kept taking about was how she couldn’t believe how many spots I had.

Needless to say that didn’t leave me with a very good impression and I left feeling even move stressed out and insecure than when I had entered.

Anyway back on track, I’ve arrived about an hour early at the Lush spa in Kingston so I’m going to tell you a little bit more about the treatment while I wait.

  • 1 hour treatment

  • £65

The best way I can describe it is almost a bit of a spa therapy treatment designed to relax and re-energize you, I’ll be quite interested to see how this turns out as it’s not the cheapest of treatments and I’m stressed out of my mind right now.

So Lush…let’s see how this goes…impress me :)

I haven’t been this relaxed in ages! My skin feels amazing! The only negative thing I can really say is I wish it had been longer.

“Wow…that is all that was on my

mind really after that. Just wow!”

I’ve already linked the video above to let you more about the actual treatment, you don’t really need me blabbing on about it when you can just watch the video so I’m going to tell you a few thing about the treatment that the video doesn’t tell you.

Things I noticed in the treatment:

  • The bed/treatment thing was heated. Ugh, I want that for my bed! Soooo nice!
  • The smells were just sublime. I know a lot of people are scared of “that” lush smell but there was nothing overpowering about thing. Lovely natural subtle smell. During the treatment I felt like I was lying down on hot moss in the middle of a magical forest (as cliche and sappy as that sounds).
  • There is no rush. I didn’t at any point during the treatment feel like I had to take what was given and then rush off. After the treatment they let you sit down with a nice cup of handmade herbal tea (and I’m not a fan of herbal tea but I liked this one) and relax a bit more till you’re ready to leave.
  • After the treatment I couldn’t stop touching my face. It felt relaxed, firm and healthy.
  • I almost expected to leave and then get stressed all over again after a few hours. So far, (and I’m writing this on the train back home) I don’t feel stressed at all.

Thing to note:

-As random as this sounds do try and go to the loo before you have this treatment, even if you feel like you don’t have to (they do have toilets there). Trust me, unless you haven’t drunk water all day, after an hour on a warm bed with the sound of water all around you WILL need the loo.

  • 7th heaven of relaxation…ok maybe that’s a bit over the top but really, super relaxing.

  • Not a cheap treatment but in that case I thinks it’s worth it (or at least as a one off treat).
  • There are not many of them in the UK (and at the moment they are only in the UK). So far there are 4 of them (I went to the one in Kingston as I didn’t really want to travel to the one right in the middle of London. With all the dirt and pollution in the air and the stress of coming back I felt it would be a bit counter productive). Hopefully in the future they’ll be opening up more spas in England and in other stores around the world.

I don’t really have much else to say other than I love this treatment. I haven’t tried any of the others, but I will soon hopefully ;) Which one do you think I should try out next?
Love, love, love.

Effie Trinket Makeup Tutorial

I think it was around 4 months ago I finally got around to reading the Hunger Games and as much as I love Katniss until the movie comes the first look I will be doing is for Effie Trinket. I just HAD to do a tutorial for her! :D

There are a few photos of her so far, the main two are the ones shown below.

The one on the left is the one I decided to recreate, even though I did make a few changes of my own to the makeup, and the one on the right was the promotional image for China Glazes’ collection based on The Hunger Games.

I wanted to collaborate with SimpleLittlePleasues for this look as I’d seen her art when she posted a response to my Acid Leopard look.

As for the nails I wore in the video I’ll be uploading a tutorial on those in a few weeks, for the moment you got all of Colette’s (aka SimpleLittlePleasues) video’s to see!

Anyway…enough blabbing! Enjoy the video! :)

Febuary Giveaway! :D

And it’s giveaway time again! :D

I mentioned in the giveaway video that you would be able to see some of the upcoming prizes on my KlairedeLysdotcom channel. If you haven’t found it here is the video:

As usual the rules are simple:

1. Leave a comment on this blog post saying enter me, (or just tell me why you would like this prize)

2. If you are under 16 years of age please ask your parents permission before entering.

3. You can only leave ONE comment.

4. The giveaway is international as always.

5. The competition ends on the 21st of February.

6. If you are the winner and don’t reply within 48 hours of me contacting you I’m sorry but I will pick another winner.

7. I ALWAYS send the prizes by recorded delivery so that I’m sure they get to you.

Why don’t you announce the

winners on You Tube?

The reason I don’t announce the winner/s on You Tube exc. is because to enter a comment you have to enter your email (don’t worry I’m the only one who can see it) so I already have the means to contact you, there is no point in announcing the winners :)

Anyway, good luck and I hope you all enter :)

IMATS London and Haul

Yes you read that right, today is the one day I will make an exception and do a haul video. But first I will be showing you some pictures of IMATS.

Unfortunately I couldn’t go to IMATS ON Sunday because of the snow but I had managed to get most of what I wanted on the Saturday so it wasn’t a total loss.

Before I forget, thanks to all the girls bellow who came over and said hi, it was really great to meet you and absolutely lovely to hear how much you enjoy my videos :)

So here are some pictures of the displays, overall there were some good ones, seeing the Harry potter prosthetics was interesting but overall I felt that last years display was a bit more interesting.

An old Leonardo Di Caprio…I still can’t decide if that’s cool or creepy.

I didn’t end up getting that many pictures in the end which was sad, on the first day I was pretty much rushing around to get everything on my list, my plan being that I would take more photos on the Sunday but the snow put a rather swift end to that theory :/

Either way, I hope you enjoy seeing what I got (quite a bit of it will end up being for you guys ;)

Toxic Glow Goth

Today I will only be showing one eye for this look, don’t ask me why but all the pictures I took of both eyes ended up slightly cross-eyed or blurry, epic fail on my part :/

For this look I collaborated with , you can check her You Tube out her channel here. I will also be linking Mandy’s video below :)

Now for the eyes…

This look isn’t really meant to be a “pretty” look really so with pretty much any eye colour it can look quite harsh.

With grey eyes the harshness of this look can easily overpower your eyes and make them look a bit lifeless, unless you want that contrast a good alternative would be to use a gold or a blue eyeliner on the water line instead of a black one.

With green eyes I don’t really have a suggestion, I love it!

For blue eyes, like grey, this colour combination can make the eye look overpowered or a bit lifeless, unless that’s what you want try a gold or a green/turquoise eyeliner .

I hope you like my video and don’t forget to check Mandy’s out! :D
